Ignou or Indira Gandhi National Open University is modeled on the central university model and it is member of the Association of Indian Universities.
Establishment
Ignou or the Indira Gandhi University was established in the year 1985 by an Act of Parliament and the degrees which they offer are recognized by the UGC as the same as the degrees/diplomas/Certificates offered by other Universities.
Ignou mba
The Ignou Mba and the ignou mca are tow main courses whuich a lot of people take as distance learning degrees for their Masters after their undergraduate courses are done

The admissions to the various courses are held each year on January and July sschedules
Ignou registrar office will give out the dates and the January and July schedules each year.
The admissions for the distance education management programs will be held twice a year in March/April time frame as well as September/October timeframe.
The entrance exam called the IGNOU OPENMAT is held for entrance to the mba and mca courses.
