Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University was formed in the year 1972 and initially it was only a collge and affiliated to Madras university. It is also referred to as JNTU
The courses offered in this university are
Civil Engineering (CE)
Mechanical Engineering (ME),
Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE),
Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE),
Computer Science and Engineering (CSE),
Chemical Engineering (ChE).

The admissions are done via the Entrance test conducted by the Andhra Pradesh board and that is the EAMCET .

The there are M.Tech Postgraduate courses which are available in
Civil Engineering : Structural Engineering
Mechanical Engineering : Heat Power (Refrigeration & Air Condition)
Electrical Engineering : Electrical Power Systems.

The admission to the postgraduate courses is done via the GATE examination conducted on a nationwide basis.
